St. Ives North Public School

JDH’s extensive planning process featured the school’s vision to motivate, invigorate and celebrate education. The demolition of an end-of-life building made way for a prominent 3-storey learning hub, truly representative of St Ives North Public School and its dedication to creative, collaborative learning. The street frontage was designed to provide a sense of welcome whilst maintaining an appropriate civic presence. The vibrant school entrance offers a vision for learning upon arrival. Innovative study areas and a refurbished library provide spacious, colourful environments to inspire learning and confidence. Community users attending out-of-hours activities can appreciate the clear external circulation routes and secure access to a variety of recreational areas. The new building enhances the locality with a stepped intersection to a residential precinct and respects local planning issues including overshadowing limits. Extended views from the upper floor encapsulate Kur-ing-gai Chase Nation Park, providing a connection to the natural vista in an environment that fosters a sense of place and purpose.
