residential / Mosman House
The brief for this new residence was to marry the needs of the clients and their young family with a sleek, modern minimalist interior.
The clients instruction was to have an abundance natural light, to provide natural ventilation to cool the property during the summer months and to maximise the harbour views.
The design connects the home vertically through a glass-roofed two storey atrium designed to flood the three levels in natural sunlight. Accommodation includes 4 bedrooms, master suite, children’s playroom room, double garaging, extensive wine cellar and poolside entertaining area.
The design inverts the traditional floorplan with the living quarters housed on the upper levels to take full advantage of the harbour views.
A frameless glass and concrete bridge connects the alfresco dining area to the pool and sun terrace creating a dramatic integration between the internal and external entertaining areas.
The building is of solid masonry construction opening with oversized windows to the upper floors and continuous glazing at the rooftop level.
